FKM/FPM
This material is known as Fluoroelastomer rubber. Its resistance against chemicals and low or high temperatures are directly correlated with the amount of fluorine it contains.
Due to its high cost, it is generally used in areas that require high performance.
It is an expensive material and it is hard to process.
It is not suitable for food contact.
Properties:
Resistance against extremely high temperatures.
Excellent resistance against chemical compounds.
Low deformation at high temperatures.
Fire extinguishing properties.
Provides good resistance against oils and fuels that are categorized in group C-F, and has low inflammation rate. When swelled, this material becomes crystalized. Elasticity in low temperatures is not good.
Resistance against oxygen and ozone.
Low transmittance.
Provides great resistance against ozone and corrosion in light.
Resistance against hot water and steam.
Areas of Usage:
It is used in fields that require high performance, such as Aerospace Industry, Automotive Industry, Cylinder Coating etc.
Operating Temperatures:
Long term: -20 C° + 230 C°
Short term: -30 C° + 300 C°
